Drones have paved the way for easier aerial shots to the beach or other places. As drones gradually become a trend, more people purchase one just to capture interesting shots straight from the sky. These are shots different than shots for ak-47. Other than that, there are also individuals who took advantage of this fad and used it for spying. Hence, other countries highly restrict travelers from using drones.
While drones are mainly used to capture moments, people have studied more uses of drones – and that eventually leads to utilizing it to fix the roof. It’s a somewhat impossible mission made possible by an individual named Ella Atkins from the University of Michigan.
Instead of climbing all the way up to the roof just to have it fixed, you can simply attach a nail gun on the drone. As for tracking the drone’s position, you can use a ground-based motion-sensing system. With the tracking position on hand, the drone independently flies towards the damaged roof and nail it down.
As for releasing the nails, it can only be done by pressing the gun’s tooltip, which is done on a surface. Therefore, the automatic shooting of the nail gun isn’t much of a concern.
The moment the nail gun releases a nail, only a slight recoil can be noticed afterward. This force released by the nail gun doesn’t overall impose potential danger to anyone within the drone’s vicinity.
Although this sounds convenient and relatively safe from unwanted accidents from climbing up the roof, this invention doesn’t and won’t replace those in the roofing industry. The human contribution is still significant in this invention.
This cool drone-nail gun combination can only work under human hands like performing quality control, checking for defects of the drones or guns, and preparing the materials needed to have this successful invention.
As for making this into a profitable item, a more advanced modification must be utilized to make this completely sellable. Attaching the drone with a power cord, better air supply, and using high-end nail guns are highly recommended to entice people to buy one.
Unexpectedly, this simple yet brilliant idea has garnered praise from some individuals. Without thinking about commercial cause, this was merely made for easier ways to fix a roof.
To put a drone in a steady position, most especially on the part where pushing against the surface occurs is a challenging step that defines the success or failure of the said invention. Despite its difficulty, the people behind this creation were able to pull it off really well.
One can only hope that there’ll be more uses for drones apart from taking pictures or videos and fixing roofs in the near future.
Drones are commonly used to take aerial photos or videos by tourists or online influencers to gain more popularity and acquire uniqueness from their works. While this has mainly been the role of a drone, other people see a better potential of its existence by making it as a tool to fix roofs.
Interestingly, this simple idea turns out to be a brilliant one after it has successfully executed its job to nail down damaged roofs.
What I love about this company is that they’re so professional and so passionate. I had a really bad leak in my roof when I came home at night. I called them up to schedule a repairman to come over and take a look but they told me they’ll be there in about 2 hours! They examined my roof and got the problem fixed right away. I didn’t have to wait for the next day for repairs
I needed some maintenance work on my house’s roof because some parts got damaged in the last snow storm. They fixed the broken parts and went out of the way to do extra after service.
I know absolutely nothing about roof repairs so I was totally lost when I felt water leaking on my head as I was having lunch. Luckily, Cain Scaffolding and Roofing took my call right away and addressed the problem. Now, I call them any time I have problems with my roof.
